It’s the holiday time of year when stories of miracles abound in every tradition. What if the wish we’ve been cherishing, the change we’ve been inviting is coming true right now? What if the next miracle is ours?
If there’s a shapeshift of our dream, will we recognize it? Will we welcome a variation of what we imagined?
We’re taught to set goals and release attachment to outcomes — no easy task, but can we trust the universe enough to watch and wait peacefully?
What if this very moment is the miracle?
It is filled with hope and creativity.
It contains the dream of a future.
It embraces infinite possibility.
It acknowledges the potential in life.
Look around. It’s a wonder that everything here has manifested. Do we ever know what’s next? It’s all unfolding moment to moment and little by little. Sometimes it creeps up on us unnoticed. Other times we receive unbidden surprises. And neither patience nor impatience speeds life up nor slows it down.
Can we imagine lack becoming abundance like the story of the Hanukah oil lamps? Can we accept that events happen beyond what is knowable like the birth of the Christ Child? Can we celebrate unity like Kwanzaa's call to action?
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." – Albert Einstein
Life is happening everywhere and all at once. It's a miracle.
