Life in Bloom

Flowers enchant me. From the youngest bud to the most mature flower, there's a message about life for us to discern. Here's a photo essay on life in bloom, with commentary by selected artists and poets.

"There are always flowers for those who want to find them." ― Henri Matisse

“One flower does not destroy the potential for more to bud and open." ― Robyn.M.M

“Nobody sees a flower - really - it is so small it takes time - we haven't time - and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time.” ― Georgia O'Keeffe

“By plucking her petals, you do not gather the beauty of the flower." ― Rabindranath Tagore

“People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.” ― Iris Murdoch

Like life, flowers unfold on their own, blooming whether we notice or not. And sometimes, a flower is simply a flower.

"The earth laughs in flowers." ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
